FAQ

Although I try and make everything as clear as possible on the website there are always a few questions - with some of the most common listed below. Please also read the full Terms & Conditions for more information or contact me should your question be unanswered.

Why do you only list a mobile number?
This is so that your call comes directly to me. If I am unable to take the call then please just leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can.

Do you only do site visits?
It has been considered that having retail premises such as a shop can be restricting. Hence I now only do visits to home or work so that I can be more flexible in working and be more responsive to calls without distractions.

Do you work evenings or weekends?
Obviously working during office hours is the norm - but I am available evenings and weekends so that I can arrange visits that are suitable to the customer.

How much do you charge?
This can very much depend on the type of work and how it is undertaken. The charge for the first hour is £30.00 and then £10.00 per half hour thereafter (min 1 hour +  ½  hourly charges apply). However if lengthy work is to be undertaken then I may suggest that I bring your computer back to the workshop and will usually give a fixed price - this is to save you money as paying hourly charges can add up!

Is your work guaranteed?

Any new components will carry manufacturer's guarantee - this is usually 12 months. I do guarantee that all work is done to the best of my ability. There is usually no charge should the same problem recur within 7 days of the original repair.

Is my data recoverable?

In most cases your data can be salvaged, even from a faulty system. Unfortunately if a hard drive fails for example then you may not be so lucky.

Is my data safe?
It is always advised that your data should be backed up regularly for your own satisfaction. Your data is of paramount concern and every effort will be made to ensure any important data is backed up to try and eliminate any loss before any work undertaken.

Why have you told me something different?

Any advice and recommendation I give as a result of consultation or troubleshooting is given to the best of my knowledge as a result of training and years of experience. If there is an opposing view I will gladly reinvestigate anything I have reported.
